Goodbye Kiln, Hello Barrel! This process takes a polished and bisque fired ceramic pot and lets the fire do the work. The pots are loaded into the barrel with multiple types of hard and soft wood, straw, salts, metals and household items like coffee grounds and banana peels. The barrel is then set afire and burns until all of the combustibles are gone. Once cool, the barrel is unloaded and the results are a blend of smoky hues of bluish-grey to black, with hints of earth tones weaving throughout.
