Beginners and advanced students welcome! Come experience the joy of Raku firing, a low fire outdoor technique, where we heat the pots in an outdoor kiln, then put them in reduction chambers which ignite, once closed the pots capture the carbon from the fire creating different effects on each piece. Only 4 seats available in this class.
Class dates:
April 5th, 1-4pm - making work
April 6th, 1-3 pm- finishing wet work
April 26th and 27th, 1-4 or 5 pm - Glazing and firing work.
Take home finished work.on the 27th, firing time depends on amount of work in class. Students are encouraged to bring a snack on the firing day.
